Are you an active, retired or former union member?

Why are you running for this office, whether for reelection or election the first time? Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?

This is the first time I have run for a public office. I have been an active member of the community, serving on boards, coaching youth sports, and teaching Sunday School and Confirmation classes at our church. The Menomonee Falls School District is generally on the right path. I am eager to work for continuous improvement.

What is the role of public education in a community?

Public education is a fundamental building block of our society. Strong schools demonstrate a community’s commitment to its children, and by extension, its future. Schools should equip students with the fundamentals of learning – literacy, math, and critical thinking. Students should be engaged and encouraged to become lifelong learners, active citizens, and use their education in their chosen vocation. Successful public schools need the active involvement and support of students, parents, teachers/administrators, and the community. More information on my position on this topic can be found at

Should teachers have autonomy in their classroom? Explain.

The state and school district should establish curriculum tailored for the grade and class. Teachers should be encouraged to use their creativity, experience, and understanding of their individual students and classrooms to deliver that curriculum in an effective manner.

How would you grade the current school board on its response to the pandemic?

Did the school district continue to adequately serve students during the disruptions caused by the pandemic? If so, please cite an example of how it successfully adjusted to continue providing services. If not, please cite a specific example of what could have been done better.

Yes. Particularly when compared to other similarly situated school districts, Menomonee Falls Schools were able to provide meaningful learning in the Spring semester of 2020 and throughout the 2020-21 school year. Wise investment in technologies like Chromebooks, Schoology and PowerSchool helped keep Falls students closer to hitting educational milestones than other districts who were limited in delivering educational content. Creativity from our educators was keenly displayed. Offering a hybrid model balanced the benefits of in-person school while maintaining more appropriate spacing with the classrooms.

Booher’s daughter, Sara Booher, led the student search committee for a new nickname and he spoke in favor of changing the name himself.
