NOMINATION PAPERS FOR WISCONSIN DEMOCRATS

Running for office requires a lot of paperwork. The first step to getting on the ballot is to collect nomination signatures. The number required depends on the office the candidate is running for.

Below are four candidates from the area who need our help collecting signatures to get their names on the ballot in November. They all share our Democratic values.

1. Tom Palzewicz for Congress

Tom Palzewicz is a Democratic candidate for Congress in Wisconsin’s 5th District, covering all or part of Waukesha, Washington, Dodge, Jefferson, and Milwaukee Counties, as well as all of the city of Whitewater.

Tom co-owned the world’s top ActionCOACH franchise with his brother, where they helped business leaders achieve their potential. In 2016, their franchise helped clients create more than 500 jobs.

Prior to starting his business in 2004, Tom spent 15 years in risk management in Wisconsin banks.

He previously served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician’s mate servicing nuclear reactors on a submarine.

Tom and his wife Terri live in Brookfield, where they raised three children, now grown, who attended Brookfield Public Schools.

He believes in working toward affordable healthcare coverage for all Americans, not taking healthcare away from people. Also, Tom knows we need a real commitment to fighting climate change so our planet is here for our children and grandchildren. He sees out-of-control student loan debt and understands education must be a focus of the next Congress.

2. Emily Siegrist for State Assembly (24th District)

Emily Siegrist has worked for 15 years in the medical field and served for five years in the Army National Guard. Her devotion to country and service is part of her DNA.

She joined the Army National Guard after high school, and with the help of the G.I. Bill and a Perkins loan, Emily attended college and eventually become a practicing Nurse Practitioner.

She believes that for far too long, Wisconsin has been divided and unable to tackle the challenges that confront our state. Emily is dedicated to working beyond party lines to find solutions.

Emily Siegrist is a mother of two and lives in River Hills.

3. Neal Plotkin for State Senate (District 8)

Neal Plotkin understands the needs of our economy in Wisconsin’s 8th State Senate District. His business career in sales and marketing has lasted over 40 years. This includes 24 years as a small business sales agency owner where he primarily engages with other small business owners.

Through the booms and busts of our economy, Neal maintained success by working hard and making fiscally smart decisions. He wants to help maintain an economy that can give anyone the same opportunities he’s had.

Neal believes in public stewardship, but sees equal value in quality public schools and the use of public lands.

He lives with his wife in Glendale.
