SHANDOWLYON HENDRICKS-WILLIAMS FOR WISCONSIN SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION

As of this writing, there are seven (7) candidates for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. This is the job that Governor Tony Evers held for so long. It is technically a non-partisan office but political parties often support certain candidates based upon their shared values or policy ideas. Media reports state that Shandowlyon Hendricks-Williams previously worked in Governor Evers’s Milwaukee office and completed a fellowship with the National Education Association (NEA). ABOUT SHANDOWLYON HENDRICKS-WILLIAMS

Here is some background on Dr. Shandowlyon Hendricks-Williams. We should note that she is sometimes identified as Shawn or Shandowlyon Hendricks, without -Williams.:

Dr. Hendricks has over 25 years of experience in public, private, charter and higher education. She has served as a Teacher Assistant, Special Education Teacher, Supervisor, Assistant Principal, Principal, District Administrator, and Adjunct Faculty prior to serving as the Assistant Director of the Teacher Education, Professional Development and Licensing (TEPDL) team at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).

Dr. Hendricks served as Director of the Milwaukee Office of the Governor. Having been in the “eye of the storm”, she has mastered the ability to adapt to change while leading others.

Remember that you will need to choose 1 of the numerous State Superintendent candidates. In other words, you cannot submit nomination papers for both Dr. Shandowlyon Hendricks-Williams and anyone else, such as Sheila Briggs. If you choose to safely collect signatures from anyone else, be sure to tell them they can only sign for one candidate. If someone signs for both candidates, their signatures will be invalidated and they will receive a lump of coal.
