Ask Questions/Comment – Waste Management Landfill/EPA Superfund Site Exhumation

Government , , , , , ,
ASK QUESTIONS/COMMENT - WASTE MANAGEMENT LANDFILL EXPANSION/EPA SUPERFUND SITE EXHUMATION Waste Management of Wisconsin proposes to expand its Menomonee Falls landfill. The land it wants to use was formerly a toxic waste dump. It is currently a Superfund site, sealed off to protect human health and the environment. Please consider that the primary issue is not the expansion itself, rather the EPA Superfund site that Waste Management requests to disturb and the impact of its exhumation on human and environmental health. We want to ensure our community and the surrounding municipalities are not harmed by the proposed…

Menomonee Falls Landfill Expansion

Government, In the News , , ,
MENOMONEE FALLS LANDFILL EXPANSION You might have heard about a potential expansion of the Menomonee Falls landfill, at the possible cost of excavating a capped Superfund site. Some have suggested that redeveloping this Superfund site could introduce more risks to human health and the environment than leaving the site capped. We are still researching the matter. For more information, read our briefing and links to news reports from Northwest Now in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and other outlets. Soon, we may suggest writing a letter if you would support having a public information hearing prior to this process moving forward.…
